HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

Health, safety, and wellbeing is at the core of Armac’s values. We perform at the highest level in the respect of our employees, supply chain and any others, such as stakeholders who may be affected by our activities. Armac Group trading as Armac Demolition Ltd and Armac Environmental Ltd operate an ISO 45001:2018 accredited Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Our goal is to create an injury free environment that encourages everyone to accept responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing and the safety and wellbeing of others.

We recognise that our people are our most important asset, actively seeking their participation results in commitment and continual improvement. The clear objective is to minimise harm, including the elimination of hazards and the reduction of risk by adopting a proactive approach to effective risk and safety management which will never be compromised. All of our operations will be conducted in accordance with best practice to the relevant statutory provisions. All practicable measures will be taken to avoid risk to employees or others who may be affected.

As such Armac will:

  • Fulfil our legal and other requirements relating to health and safety, undertake risk assessments, implement the identified control measures to eliminate hazards under the ‘hierarchy of control’ and ensure that safe systems of work are applied in relation to all our activities.

  • Never compromise the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and any subcontractors by focusing on other objectives.

  • Provide healthy and safe working conditions, equipment, and systems.

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation, through consultation and participation with employees or through elected representatives.

  • Communicate with, train, develop and require our employees and subcontractors work in a safe manner that prevents harm to health or to an individual’s wellbeing.

  • Provide health surveillance on an annual or more frequent basis dependent on role or individuals responsibilities.

  • Reinforce the responsibility of employees to stop work when it is unsafe to continue.

  • Provide a quality management system that drives continuous improvement.

  • Continually monitor health, safety, and wellbeing performance.

  • Provide venues for open discussions on health, safety & wellbeing, such as H&S stand downs.

  • Provide mental health awareness training and routes for support.

  • Empower employees to be involved in the planning and design of work.

  • Recognise and reward those who demonstrate their commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing.

  • Create a culture of caring for others.

All persons fulfilling a management position within the company including Directors, are required to maintain high standards of health, safety, and wellbeing throughout their areas of responsibility.

All employees and subcontractors engaged by the company are required to adhere with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System and this policy.

All systems of health, safety and wellbeing management shall be reviewed at least on an annual basis including this policy statement.

Ultimate responsibility for fulfilling this policy and ensuring defined responsibilities are endorsed is vested in the undersigned.
